There are many ways to decorate a Christmas tree. Doing so in an old-fashioned way is a nice touch and can be a change for you and your family. Here is how you can traditionally decorate a Christmas tree.

From Quick Guide: Celebrate Christmas
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use white candles to light up your Christmas tree instead of lights. Of course, you’ll need to be present when doing this to make sure that your Christmas tree doesn’t catch fire.

  2. Step 2

String popcorn along the branches of your Christmas tree. This adds a nice touch to your tree.

  3. Step 3

Decorate your Christmas tree with candy canes. This will give your Christmas tree some nice color. It will also give you snacks once you take your Christmas tree down.

  4. Step 4

Decorate your Christmas tree with cranberries and acorns. This gives your tree both color and an outdoors-look.

  5. Step 5

Use small pieces of cotton or even ripped up pieces of paper to mimic snow on your Christmas tree. This is far more traditional than canned flocking.

  6. Step 6

Use an angel to top off your Christmas tree. Since you can’t light up a star on the top of the tree an angel is a better tree topper.
