on 7/1/2009 Home remedies are sometimes great ideas. However, in dealing with leather, home remedies, more often than not, create a bigger mess than you started with. Sometimes you do get lucky and the process works to your satisfaction. But, if you truly want the job done right and wish to save an expensive or "loved" piece, you should consider hiring a professional or, at the very least, obtaining products designed for this purpose. A highly reliable and effective source is from a company called Leather Magic http://www.leathermagic.com It is very much like working on your car...you must have the right materials to do the job correctly.

on 12/5/2007 I have a once-beautiful black leather sofa out in the garage with our rescue cats. It may never be restored to its former grandeur, but I'm totally going to try this!
