Things You'll Need:
- 6 green tart apples
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup – 1 cup sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons flour
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 pie crust shells (self made or ready made)
- Pie pan
- Aluminum foil

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Skin all of the apples.

Step 2
Cut the apples into quarters and shave the core off.

Slice the apple quarters into slices based on personal preference. 1/3 – 1/2 inch thick works best.

Put bottom layer of pie crust shell into deep dish pie pan.

Fill pie pan with apple slices.

DO NOT PREMIX INGREDIENTS!

Evenly distribute sugar on top of apples. Do not stir, mix, etc.

Evenly distribute cinnamon on top of sugar. Again, do not stir, mix, etc

Evenly distribute nutmeg on top of sugar and cinnamon. Again, do not stir, mix, etc.

Evenly distribute flour on top of apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Evenly distribute vanilla extract on top of apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour.

Cut up butter into small pieces and evenly distribute on top of pie filler.

Place top pastry crust on top. Pinch the edges to tie in the bottom crust to the top crust.

Cut vent holes in top crust.

Step 15
Cover edges of pie with aluminum foil.

Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes to one hour.

Step 17
Remove foil after 20-25 minutes of baking. This prevents the edges from becoming too dark.
