Choose what color scheme you want to go with, whether it's grey, black, or navy blue. These are the basic colors to begin with for menswear and there are a variety of ways that you can go with any of the three.

Once you've decided on the color scheme, set out to find curtains in these colors. Curtains make a bold statement, coming second to painted walls, and create a lot of atmosphere in a room. If you can't find any curtains, consider going to a seamstress or making your own; it's easier to find great fabric from a wide variety rather than trying to find just the right curtains.

Keep the details a crisp and simple white. For a bedroom, this means that the pillow and the sheets should be white, while the duvet cover can be in the deeper colorsm perhaps with a pinstripe.

Add in pops of color, as you would to accessorize a suit. Think of scarves, flowers in a lapel, ties, and shoes, and add accents in that vein. Pillows, rugs and table cloths fall into this category.
