Having dry skin during the winter months may seem like an unavoidable consequence of the season. That doesn’t have to be the case, though. Here is how you can avoid dry skin during the winter months.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use lotions to moisturize your skin. This is a great first step in avoiding dry skin during the winter.

  2. Step 2

Use lip balm. Lip balms are a great way to moisturize dry skin and also protect your lips against the harsh winter elements.

  3. Step 3

Protect your skin from the elements by wearing plenty of clothing. Your skin won’t get as dry it doesn’t get damaged by the cold, harsh winter wind.

  4. Step 4

Drink plenty of water. Your skin won’t dry out as quickly if you aren’t dehydrated.

  5. Step 5

Boil water to keep moisture in the air. Your heating system can make your home very dry. Boiling water will put moisture back into the air, thus keeping your skin from drying out.

  6. Step 6

Use a humidifier to put moisture in the air. Much like boiling water, this will put much needed moisture back into the air. Do this at night when you can’t boil water.
