How to Clean Golf Grips

How to Clean Golf Grips thumbnail
Keep your golf club grips clean.

Golfers want to do everything they can to improve their game. Keeping the grips on your golf clubs clean can keep hardened and cracked grips from hurting your game. Dirt and oils from your hands can cause your grips to deteriorate. If you clean them regularly, you won't have to replace them quite as often.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 gallon warm water
  • Mild degreaser such as dish soap
  • Scrub brush
  • Clean soft rag

Mix a few drops of a mild dish soap with a gallon of warm water.

    • 2

Put the scrub brush into the soapy water and work the bristles into the pores of your grips, being careful not to scrub too hard.

Rinse your grips under clean, warm running water. Be careful not to get the shaft of the club wet.

Thoroughly dry the grips with a clean, soft dry cloth. Dry the shaft if you have gotten any water on it.
