Things You'll Need:
- Shopping money or hand-me-downs
-
Step 1
Shop. Shop. Shop. Anywhere and everywhere. Chandelier earrings are designed for all types of budgets. They can be Tiffany-style with precious gemstones or designer knock-offs from a department store made with beads or shells. Be a creative and thrifty shopper, by checking out antique shops and consignment stores. They could have the real thing for real cheap.
-
Step 2
Think versatile. Chandelier earrings can be elegant and formal or fun and flirty, depending on what they’re worn with and the materials from which they’re made. A platinum earring set with Swarovski crystals obviously leans toward dressy. But they can also be worn with a black turtleneck and dark jeans for a contemporary-yet-casual first date or Girls Night Out. Be open to goldtone and copper finishes as well as sterling silver.
-
Step 3
Save face. There are thousands of shapes and makes of chandelier earrings out there, so hold them up in a mirror to make sure they don’t overpower that beautiful mug. Some face shapes look great in chandelier earrings, while others come off looking rounder or thinner than preferred.
-
Step 4
Don’t overdo it. Pay attention to other accessories when wearing chandelier earrings. Some are diamond-shaped and spread wide while others have a teardrop shape that helps them hang low. Many are petite and dainty. A necklace probably isn’t necessary if the earrings are commanding the majority of the attention. When worn alone with a sweater, blouse or dress with a plunging neckline, chandelier earrings can be the sexiest accessories a woman can wear.
