Puppies who chew on shoes, furniture, and everything else can be financially draining and emotionally stressful, to say the least!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • paprika
  • lemon juice
  • spray bottle with water
  • patience
  • A Kong toy
  • other toys for your dog
  1. Step 1

Whenever your puppy chews on something you do not want him to chew on, remove it from his mouth and substitute the peanut butter KONG toy immediately, while telling him NO! and then giving him the KONG toy and saying "good dog" when he takes it

  2. Step 2

If your puppy is chewing and you can not get right there, spray him with the bottle of water that you have handy and tell him "no chew!"

  3. Step 3

When your puppy chews repeatedly on a piece of furniture for example, sprinkle paprika on the spot or rub it with lemon juice

Tips & Warnings
  • put away stuff that you know your puppy will want to chew on (puppy-proof your house)
  • Give your puppy plenty of exercise, take him walking daily, to wear out his extra energy
  • wash out the KONG toy at least twice weekly and brush out the inside with a bristle brush to prevent bacteria from building up, rinse well
