Jenna's Ears Are Way Too Hairy

A dog that has long hairy ears tends to get a lot of moisture trapped in the ear, which can lead to difficulty with ear infections.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • washcloth
  • warm water supplied by a garden hose or a turkey baster
  • dog shampoo
  • soft terry cloth towel
  • medication if necessary from the vet
  1. Step 1

Flush the ear out with warm water. This can be done with a plunger such as a turkey baster or with a hose attached to a warm water supply.

  2. Step 2

pour shampoo on the washcloth and gently wash out the ear, use your finger to get down into the ear canal

  3. Step 3

rinse the ear out well by flushing with warm water again

  4. Step 4

dry the ear out with a dry terry cloth towel

  5. Step 5

put in any ear drops you may have from your vet

on 6/7/2009 After drying the ear, wet a cotton ball with natural apple cider vinegar and squeeze in a few drops. This raises the PH so bacteria and yeast can't grow in any residual moister.
