How to Make Crock-Pot Spaghetti Sauce

Tired of spaghetti sauce from the jar? To make delicious homemade spaghetti sauce that will have people talking follow these easy steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • crock pot
  • 1 large can whole tomatoes peeled
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 2 cloves of garlic (or 1 tsp. garlic powder)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 T basil
  • 1 T oregano
  • 1 cup water

Step1
Pour the can whole tomatoes into Crock-Pot and squeeze tomatoes until they are broken apart.
Step2
Add remaining ingredients.
Step3
Set Crock-Pot on "high" heat and stir. After an hour turn down to "low" heat all day (4 hour minimum). Serves 8 -12.

Tips & Warnings

  • Freezes well.
  • Use same sauce to make lasagna.
  • For variety: make meatballs, Italian sausage or fry hamburger meat to make meat sauce. Add to sauce an our before serving.
  • Careful to stir so exposed sides of crock pot don't burn.
  • Always turn to "low" heat or "simmer" before leaving the house.
