Things You'll Need:
- An appreciation for Latino arts and culture
- No plans the weekend closest to May 5
- Access to downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park
-
Step 1
Head to downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park--located in front of Colorado’s historic gold-domed Capitol building--for free arts and entertainment and to celebrate Mexican freedom and liberty.
-
Step 2
Once at the nation’s largest Cinco de Mayo Festival, enjoy Latino-inspired arts, crafts, Mariachi bands, Aztec dancers and Mexican food on the weekend closest to May 5.
-
Step 3
To expand on the cultural experience, visit the Museo de las Américas in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District for Latino art, culture and history. The museum--with tours, workshops and a culture lab--is the only one of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region.
