Step 1
Check out the civil service jobs in your state. Go to the state home page and search for civil service jobs. Once you found the page, you should see the current jobs that may be available. You can check for qualifications and requirements.

Choose a job that you think you are qualified for and obtain an application on line or have one mailed to you. Some jobs require a test and you may be able to find study material at your library. You will receive a test date, time and location.

Step 3
After you have taken your exam you will receive your test results by mail or you can check on the web site. The higher the score the better you chance at getting an interview. Once you have an interview, you may be on your way.
