Don't just rake and bag those pine cones in your yard! Make them into beautiful wreaths for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any time of the year. It is not as hard as it sounds. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • 20 small pine cones
  • Spool of jewelry wire

Step1
Take pine cone in your hand and wrap the end of the jewelry wire in between the scales of the pine cone and bring the wire around the cone so that the end comes around to the wire still on the spool.
Step2
Twist the wires together like a bread tie, then tuck the sharp ends under the circle of wire you just created around the pine cone.
Step3
Select your next cone and bring the wire around the scales of the new cone and twist the wire like you did above. Twist the cones to make the wire in between the cones tight.
Step4
Continue this process until you have used all of your pinecones.
Step5
Bring the end of your wire to the cone you started with and wrap the wire around your starter cone and twist.
Step6
A pinecone wreath decorated for Fall. Cut wire and decorate as you wish.

Tips & Warnings

  • Decorate your wreath by using hot glue.
  • Cover any showing wire with ribbon.
  • Loop the end of the wire to make a hanger for your wreath.
