Don't just rake and bag those pine cones in your yard! Make them into beautiful pine cone wreaths for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any time of the year. It is not as hard as it sounds. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 small pine cones
  • Spool of jewelry wire
  1. Step 1

Take pine cone in your hand and wrap the end of the jewelry wire in between the scales of the pine cone and bring the wire around the cone so that the end comes around to the wire still on the spool.

  2. Step 2

Twist the wires together like a bread tie, then tuck the sharp ends under the circle of wire you just created around the pine cone.

  3. Step 3

Select your next cone and bring the wire around the scales of the new cone and twist the wire like you did above. Twist the cones to make the wire in between the cones tight.

  4. Step 4

Continue this process until you have used all of your pine cones.

  5. Step 5

Bring the end of your wire to the cone you started with and wrap the wire around your starter cone and twist.

  6. Step 6

Tips & Warnings

  • Cover any showing wire with ribbon.
  • Loop the end of the wire to make a hanger for your wreath.
