Even the most amateur photographer can learn a few basic tools to make the most of their photos with photography manipulation software.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Photography Editing Software
  • Computer
  • Digitall photography
Step1
First, open your pictures in the program.
Step2
Use the "crop" tool (the icon looks like a little box made out of dotted lines) to cut out any unnecessary people or background objects. Pull the crop "box" so it fits around the desired picture, then right click and select "crop."
Step3
If your picture is too dark, click on "Image" then "Adjustments" and then "Curves." You will see a grid. Click on the center of the grid and pull the cursor up to adjust the light in the picture.
Step4
To adjust the size of your picture, click on "Image" and then "Image size". Type the desired size into the "Inches" box. 5-by-7 is generally a good size.

Tips & Warnings

  • These are basic tips, but don't be afraid to explore. Many image-manipulation programs offer literally hundreds of ways to improve your pictures.
