How to Have an Online Direct Sales Party

Those in direct sales are familiar with holding parties. They are a great way to connect with potential customers and make sales. But did you know that online parties can be fun and profitable as well? In an online party, the presenter and guests log in to a chat room. The seller directs guests to her website to view the products offered, makes her presentation, and answers questions. You can also play party games and give away prizes, just like you would at a regular party.

1. Secure a chat room for the party. You could get your own chat room to hold parties in, rent one for someone else, or find a hostess who will allow you to use hers.
2. Set a date. Weekdays are usually better than weekends, and the winter months usually see a better turnout than summer.
3. Decide what party games you want to play. There are lots of them that you can use at an online party. Word scramble is an easy one to manage. You could also have a scavenger hunt, picking out items on your website and having guests find them and paste the URL of the page they’re on into the chat. Or be creative and think up your own games.
4. Choose prizes to give away. This can be a gift certificate, coupons, or products that you have on hand or can have shipped inexpensively.
5. Publicize your party. Send out invitations (or have your hostess do so), announce it on forums that allow such announcements, and post about it on your blog. The more the merrier!
