If you are expecting guests for the holidays, you will probably want your house spic and span for their arrival and stay. There is no need to hire a cleaning service to get the job done. With a few simple products and some good old fashioned elbow grease, you can have your home ready for guests in no time. Read on to learn how.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lysol 3 in 1 All Purpose Cleaner
  • Comet or Bon Ami
  • Glass Cleaner
  • Endust or Pledge
  • Cleaning Cloths
  • Scrubbing Brushes
  • Mop
  • Vacuum
  1. Step 1

    Clean and scrub your bathroom and kitchen sinks, showers and tubs with Comet or Bon Ami. Use a cleaning cloth or scrub brush.

  2. Step 2

    Pour a small amount of Lysol 3 in 1 All Purpose Cleaner in bathroom and kitchen sinks. Add water. Soak a cleaning cloth into mixture and ring out thoroughly. Clean kitchen and bathroom counters, outside of toilets and tubs and kitchen appliances with mixture. Rinse and resoak cloth as needed. Let dry.

  3. Step 3

    Pour a small amount of Lysol Cleaner into toilets and clean with a scrub brush. Let sit for a few minutes and then flush.

  4. Step 4

    Clean mirrors with glass cleaner and a clean cloth.

  5. Step 5

    Dust furniture, electronics and knickknacks with Endust or Pledge and a clean cloth.

  6. Step 6

    Vacuum all of your floors.

  7. Step 7

    Use mixture of Lysol Cleaner and water with mop to clean all tile and vinyl floors

  8. Step 8

    Put clean sheets on the beds.

  9. Step 9

    Put clean towels in the bathrooms and kitchen.

  10. Step 10

    Make sure there is enough toilet paper, tissues paper towels and soap for guests to use.

  11. Step 11

    Wash all dirty sheets, towels and cleaning cloths with your dirty laundry. Dry and put away.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use an air spray, candles, or scented plug in to add a fresh scent to your home. They come in a variety of scents, including special holiday scents.
  • When vacuuming, use a scented carpet cleaner to add more freshness.
