Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Caterer
- Venue
- Menu sampling
- A grasp on what kind of food your guests generally like
Step1
Think about the types of foods that both you and your family and friends enjoy. It may help to think about what types of foods are served/you serve at get-togethers, both formal and casual.
Step2
Think about how adventurous your guests are in general. Does the prospect of a new food excite most of them? Or do they stear clear of any meat that is even the slightest bit red?
Step3
Determine what foods will work the best within your budget. Remember that you want to get the maximum value for the minimum amount of money. Maybe you want to splurge on great dinner wine and save by serving chicken or vice versa.
Step4
Try to personalize your menu by adding an old family recipe, such as Mom's lettuce wraps or Grandma's greek salad.
Step5
Pay close attention to taste and texture when during your menu tasting. Try to pair items that would complement each other to establish a general theme.
