So many people think that making an effort to save energy will cost them big bucks - but there are simple changes you can make with how you use basic appliances that can save significant amounts of energy.

Step1
Use low-energy light bulbs, like Energy Star bulbs. Low-energy bulbs can last up to 10 times longer than regular bulbs, and use 80 percent less energy.
Step2
Unplug appliances when you’re not using them. TVs and computers can drain energy while on stand-by.
Step3
Use low temperature settings on your washing machine and always wash full load.
Step4
Shower instead of having a bath, and try to cut down the length of each shower. Pumping water consumes a significant amount of energy.
