How to Make a Chocolate Brownie Trifle

A chocolate brownie trifle is an elegant looking and delicious dessert. Best of all, it’s simple to make and your guests will love it!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 boxes brownie mix
  • 2 tubs cool whip
  • 2 packages chocolate mousse mix
  • 4 chocolate toffee candy bars (Heath or Skor), crushed up
  • Trifle bowl or clear bowl
  • oven
  1. Step 1

    Prepare the chocolate mousse mix according to package directions. Chill for at least 30 minutes (or longer if possible).

  2. Step 2

    Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Allow brownies to cool completely and then cut into small squares.

  3. Step 3

    Layer half of the cut up brownies in the bottom of a footed trifle bowl. If you don’t own a trifle bowl, use any clear bowl.

  4. Step 4

    Dollop half of the chocolate mousse on top of the brownies.

  5. Step 5

    Spread 1 tub of cool whip on top of the layer of chocolate mousse.

  6. Step 6

    Sprinkle half of the crushed toffee bars on top of the cool whip layer.

  7. Step 7

    Repeat layers one more time.

  8. Step 8

    Refigerate until ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • During the holiday season, you can change this up a bit and make it more festive by substituting crushed peppermint candies for the toffee bars.
