Food, football and family time are a great way to spend New Year’s Day after the biggest bash of the year. Read on to learn how to spend New Year's Day.
Tune in to one of the biggest college football days known to college football fans. Check local listings for game times, unless you are lucky enough to have tickets to the big games.
Step2
With a day off from work and the kids home from school, spark up a flag football game outside in the yard. If the weather outside is frightening, play board or card games until that lucky dinner is served.
Step3
New Year’s Day can be a day of family traditions that predict how much luck you and your loved ones will have all year long. For instance, my family is of Irish lineage, so we’ve always had my all-time favorite meal, corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and cooked carrots. That meal can have magical hangover powers, too. My southern friends like to eat black-eyed peas, ham and cornbread to find their lucky charms.
Step4
Go shopping. With all those fabulous sales, New Year’s Day is a perfect excuse to buy a new outfit for work or play.
Step5
Relax. If the New Year’s Eve party was as good as it should have been, you deserve to prop your feet up and take a breather.
Step6
Proclaim a New Year’s resolution and promise to stick with it. I always resolve to apply for a passport, and I’m hoping I won’t be doing that again next year. Try something you know you can do in the next 364 days.
