How to Get Yukimura Sanada's Fifth Weapon (the Susano) in Samurai Warriors

Yukimura Sanada's 5th weapon is simple to obtain, but challenging. The process is not complicated, but it will still take skill at the game to successfully find the Susano. It's worth the effort, however; the Susano is a fine weapon, with the following stats:


Base Attack: 47
Element: Fire

Life: +50
Musou: +27
Attack: +40
Defense: +38


Your goal is to complete the first four missions and obtain 1000 kills. It is an exhaustive but rewarding requirement.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You'll Need:

• Yukimura Sanada's story mode cleared once.
• Access to the final stage of Yukimura's tale, Siege of Osaka - Summer.

1. If playing on the Samurai Warriors:Xtreme Legends expansion, import data from the original Samurai Warriors if you haven't done so already. SKIP THIS STEP if you are not playing Xtreme Legends.

2. Set the difficulty to "Hard" or "Chaos", or if you are playing on Samurai Warriors:Xtreme Legends and have purchased the special bonus available from the options menu that allows you to obtain 5th weapons on Normal difficulty, you may set it to Normal instead.

3. Begin Story Mode or Free Mode, and play as Yukimura Sanada. Choose the final stage of Yukimura's tale on the upper path, Siege of Osaka - Summer.

4. Equip standard battle items, but be sure to equip a good pair of Tengu Sandals for speed, or a good horse.

5. Head for Osaka castle's main gate, the Sanada-Maru, and exit. You will get a mission to lure Tadanao Matsudaira and Toshitsune Maeda forward. Head for one of the blue dots.

6. Once you get near one of the indicated officers, he'll shout out to you. Make him follow you (hit him if necessary) and head for the other blue-dot officer and make him follow you as well.

7. Lead both officers to the blue X. Once Yukimura says "begin the attack!", you have succeeded, and you can defeat them both (though this is not necessary).

8. You will get a mission to destroy the Tokugawa cannon units. Head for the eastern ones first; approach the cannons and either destroy them or knock their riders off to halt the cannons.

9. Do the same to the cannons approaching the castle from the west.

10. Once all four cannons have been destroyed or disabled, circle around to the caste west gate and meet with Katsunaga Mouri. he will open the gate for you; enter Osaka Castle and head toward Hideyori Toyotomi.

11. Ignore the ninja unit that appears and keep moving toward Hideyori, taking the north route through the castle. As soon as you are close and Yukimura begins speaking to him, turn around and go back the way you came until you exit the castle.

12. Wait outside the castle until Masamune Date appears. Defeat him before he can enter the castle, then seal off any strongholds in the area.
    
    Note that a supply team will appear. This one does NOT have the weapon. However, it has the Arabian Saddle, so go ahead and get it if you don't have it.

13. At this point, your goal is to get 1000 kills by any means. Try to avoid killing officers and reserve captains, and just hang out where enemies congregate and kill as many as you can.
    
    I recommend entering the Tokugawa camp and getting the mission to "repel the enemy assault" out of the way. This is also a good area to accumulate kills, since the strongholds spew out a lot of enemies.

14. Once if you have 1000 KOs, if you completed the first four missions given to you, the supply team will arrive in the far west, just outside the Tokugawa camp. They'll head east, so head for them, defeat the captain and collect the weapon.

15. Charge into the Tokugawa camp and defeat Hanzo Hattori to end the stage. The Susano is now yours!

Tips & Warnings

• Don't worry about any other officers; once you've cleared the Masamune Date mission, all you need to do is get the kills you need. Protecting officers is unnecessary.
