Have you ever heard an unfamiliar song on the radio or on television and wished you could find the name of it? Thanks to the world wide web, you can find that lovely tune easily.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A pen and paper or cell phone
  • A computer
  • Access to a search engine
  1. Step 1

Pick a line you are sure you correctly heard the lyrics of. This is often the chorus, but it does not have to be.

  2. Step 2

Use a pen and paper to jot down the lyric. If you are in your car and do not have a pen and paper on hand, type the lyric in to your cell phone as a new text message, and then save it to the "Drafts" folder.

  3. Step 3

Find a computer and choose a search engine.

  4. Step 4

After you've entered the lyric into the search field, choose the first song that pops up. Hopefully you've got a match!

Tips & Warnings
  • When you choose the lyric you will search for later on, try to choose a unique phrase. For instance, "Like a stone" is likely a lyric in many songs. "I'm sinking like a stone in the sea" will likely produce a more accurate result.
  • Many radio stations now archive each day's playlist on their web site. Take a minute to note what time the song is playing and look for it on the station' s site later.
