Here is a tip for all you married ladies out there who become widows during baseball season: Don’t try and change your husband, join him. Here are a few steps to watching baseball with your husband. It will impress him, bring you both closer together and give you the upper hand the next time you need him to do you a favor while the game is on.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Jersey or cap of his favorite team
  • Research ability
  • Internet access (not mandatory)
  • Open mind

Step1
Familiarize Yourself with the Game. There are many books and internet sites that will give you the basics of baseball. They more knowledgeable you are beforehand; the more impressed he will be when you know what a double play is.
Step2
Know the Teams. You don’t have to memorize every team in major league baseball. But you should know who your husband’s favorite team is, and their rivals.
Step3
Adopt Your Husband’s Favorite Team. Nothing impresses a man more than having his wife root for his hometown team right alongside of him.
Step4
Keep the Questions To A Minimum. Your husband knows that you do not know the game inside-and-out. So, a few questions throughout the game will be accepted. But questions after every single pitch will not be.
Step5
Get the Gear. Your husband has a jersey and a cap. So can you.
Step6
Show Your Excitement. If your husband cheers at a particular moment, you cheer as well. Nothing says “I’m just here but not involved” like sitting on the couch with a blank stare, while your husband does the waka-waka dance on the living room floor.
Step7
Show Your Frustration. Not at him for being a sports addict, but rather at the team for getting beat or doing something stupid. He will, so should you.
Step8
Give Him Space In A Loss. If his team loses, especially if it is a big game, he will be angry at the end. Tell him you are angry too, even if you don’t mean it, and allow him a few minutes to get over it. Trust me, he will.

Tips & Warnings

  • Give 100% if you are going to try it. Doing it halfway will only frustrate things.
