As if homeschooling wasn't hard enough, when there are pre-school small children present, planning and organization is necessary to have a rewarding educational environment.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toys
  • Crayons
  • Paper
  • Lesson Planner
  1. Step 1

Plan the coming week during the weekend. Take into consideration the week's events, difficulty of coming lessons and weather (to determine types of play).

  2. Step 2

Begin the day with all children at the table or desk. This will involve crayons and paper for the toddler and school work for the older child.

  3. Step 3

Save the harder subjects for nap time, as the quiet will be necessary. As you begin your lesson, explain the concepts and leave the older child to her seat work as you work with the toddler.

  4. Step 4

The second subject will provide a transition for the toddler. Explain the lesson, then play with the toddler as the older child completes his paper work.

  5. Step 5

Allow your older child to complete simple subjects as you lay your little one down for nap.

  6. Step 6

The quiet of nap time will allow for one-on-one instruction, question and answer time and test taking opportunities.

  7. Step 7

After nap, a snack and drink for the toddler will allow just enough time to tie up loose ends of the lessons, and give ample time in the afternoon to enjoy all your children in peace and accomplishment.
