Do everything you can to be prepared for the long lines and delays in the airports. These tips can help you negotiate boarding through the airport.

From Quick Guide: Fly Through Airport Security
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Perform the check-in on the Internet. Before your leave for the airport, perform a check-in on the Internet at the airlines website. This will save you time at the security area.

  2. Step 2

Use all carry-on luggage. If possible, take two small carry-on bags so you will not have to wait at the baggage check.

  3. Step 3

Health and beauty aids must be in clear plastic. This is a new rule that people sometimes forget. Also, don't bring bottled water of any type.

  4. Step 4

Don't bring shampoo, soap and conditioner. Most hotels provide these items for you and this can save a lot of packing time.

  5. Step 5

If possible, have rides pick you up at "departures" instead of "arrivals" to save time.

  6. Step 6

Before leaving home, use the Internet to map where your gate is so you can go right to the right place and not have to wander around and become late.

  7. Step 7

For going through security, make sure shoes are easy to take on or off, get rid of loose coins and don't wear a belt.
