Burn digital music to your CD using your computer and iTunes program.

Whether your PC has a CD drive that uses CD-R or CD-RW discs, you can burn an audio CD with your Apple iTunes program for Windows. Just follow a few simple directions and you'll be able to transfer digital music to your blank disc in no time. But be careful to follow copyright laws when using your software.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your iTunes program. Click on "Preferences" from the Edit Menu.

    • 2

Click on the "Burning" tab and choose "Audio CD" next to "Disc format." Click "OK."

    • 3

Click on the "File" drop-down menu on the program's main page and click on "New Playlist." A new folder will open in the left-hand pane.

    • 4

Click inside the highlighted box to name the playlist.

    • 5

Open your music folder and drag the songs into the large right-hand pane so iTunes will recognize the songs you would like to burn.

    • 6

Right-click on the playlist and chose "Burn Playlist to Disc." You can also click on the "Burn Disc" button on the program's main page.

    • 7

Insert a blank disc into the computer and click "Burn Disc."

    • 8

Wait as iTunes automatically converts your files into a format that can be played on a stereo or compact disc player.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you use a blank CD, or iTunes will reject the CD.
