Things You'll Need:
- Cardstock (page base)
- Ink pads or re-inkers (desired colors)
- Water color pencils
- Small paint brush
- Foam (the kind used for packing and wrapping items)
- Bubble wrap
- Aluminum foil
- Tissue paper

Step 1
Foam Texture
First, fold your foam sheet in half and press it on to your ink pad until the color is visible on the foam. Then, press the foam onto your cardstock in a rolling motion. Roll from one side to the other starting with your index finger and rolling across to your pinky. Repeat this motion all over your page until you get the desired pattern. You can also mix colors for a more dramatic effect. -
Step 2
Bubble Wrap Texture
Tear off a piece of bubble wrap (preferably the small bubbles) and press it onto your ink pad rubbing it in the ink to cove the plastic bubbles. Then, twist the bubble wrap into your cardstock in a circular motion. Continue to ink the bubble wrap and repeat the first step until your have covered your background space. -
Step 3
Aluminum Foil Texture
Squish a medium sized piece of aluminum foil and hold it at one end leaving the other end free to dunk into the ink. Cover the foil with ink and pounce it onto your paper. The crease in the aluminum foil will make unique designs on the paper. Continue to press the foil on the paper until your get the design you want. -
Step 4
Tissue Paper Texture
Purchase acid-free tissue paper for your scrapbook page background. Lay your tissue paper flat or punch out shapes with a craft punch, then use water color pencils and a wet paint brush to paint your paper the desired color. Allow the tissue paper to dry completely. With your colored tissue paper you can glue the paper flat, arrange the shapes on the cardstock or for a more dramatic appearance crumple the paper to add dimension to your page background.
