How to Sell Scrapbook Layouts on EBay

Many people would love to put a scrapbook album together for their family members, but may think they lack the talent or time they need to create beautiful layouts. Enter eBay, a hot spot for scrapbooking supplies. Many scrappers offer pre-made pages on the auction site that typically sell for anywhere from $1 to $100 -- elaborate layouts attract higher bids. Scrappers can list their layouts on the eBay auction site for a nominal fee. You, too, can use your talent and creativity to make money.

1. Log on to eBay and establish an account if you are not already a member. Once you are a member sign in to the website and in the upper right-hand corner select "Sell."

   This will take you to a page where you describe your item in three to five words. For a scrapbook layout you would say something like "pre-made scrapbook pages" and then click on "Start Selling."

   The next page will say "Select a category." For a pre-made scrapbook layout you would probably select "crafts>scrapbooking>pre-made scrapbook pages." You can choose other categories, but this one will likely attract the most viewers.

2. Create your listing using the provided form. You will have a title, subtitle (optional), specifics about the item including the condition (new or used, for example), an item description where you describe the layout in detail, a place to download pictures, pricing information like the starting price for your auction and the cost of shipping. You will also have to fill in information about shipping locations and other buyer requirements such as shipping costs.

3. When your item is listed you will be charged a listing fee. This fee is determined by the things you used in your listing and the starting price of your item. Usually the fee is around $.70 for listings under $9.99 that include a gallery picture and no other extras. You can select extras like the subtitle, background graphics and more. The auction site charges you extra for more than one picture if you use its picture site, but you can download as many pictures as you want for free if you use your own website.

4. The eBay auctions can last anywhere from one to 10 days. The average auction is seven days. To be successful as a seller on eBay it is a good idea to provide the buyers with as much information as possible about your scrapbook layout and check your listings often for questions and to track the price of the layout you are selling

5. Once your auction ends the highest bidder will win the pre-made scrapbook layout and they will be required to pay you per your instructions. When you receive payment it is your responsibility to mail the layout to the winning bidder in a timely manner.

6. Leave feedback after the transaction is complete. This is where you rate the buyer with your feedback and the buyer will do the same for you.

• Include several pictures of your layout including close-ups on embellishments and different angles so they can see the intricate details of the scrapbook pages.

• Always answer questions from perspective bidders, so you will get as many bids as possible.

• Keep a good rating on EBay by providing great customer service.

• Pack your layouts in a stiff envelope of a large enough box so they don't get bent of damages during the shipping process.

• Make sure you receive payment and it has cleared before you send out your pre-made scrapbook layout to the winning bidder.

• Beware of fraudulent payments and bids.
