Scrapbooking stickers are the staple of the scrapbook craft. Stickers have been updated and changed through the years, but one thing holds strong; their adhesive stays stuck! It is a good idea to pay close attention to where you are sticking your sticker embellishments because they adhere to your paper and may be tough to remove. If you do make a mistake and decide you put a sticker in the wrong place then you have a couple of options for correcting a misplaced sticker.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrapbooking stickers
  • Adhesive remover
  • Adhesive eraser
  • Embellishments
  • Scrapbook paper
  1. Step 1

Decide whether or not your can live with the sticker mistake or if you need to correct it. If you can work around the sticker placement mistake it will be less stressful to just leave it.

  2. Step 2

See if your sticker can be gently peeled off of the page by starting at one end and removing slowly; depending on how long your sticker has been on the paper you may have a little time where the adhesive is forgiving and the sticker can be repositioned or removed without causing damage to the paper or leaving residue.

  3. Step 3

If the sticker is permanently stuck then you can try to use an adhesive remover to get it off the paper or try to peel it off and clean up the residue using an adhesive eraser. (this technique may damage or ruin your sticker, but it will leave a clean surface).

  4. Step 4

A sticker placement mistake can also be corrected by covering up the sticker with another larger sticker or embellishment. A sticker can easily be covered up with a larger item and no one will ever know of your blunder. Try placing a die cut, a photograph or a tag over the sticker to disguise your mishap

Tips & Warnings
  • Use stickers sparingly in order to keep the focus on the pictures instead of the embellishments.
  • Always buy stickers that are photo-safe, acid and lignin-free.
  • If you decide to use an adhesive remover be careful not to get your paper too wet and make sure you are using a scrapbook-safe adhesive remover because some solutions may bleach your colored cardstock.
