How to Create a Sorceress in Diablo 2

After many years, Diablo 2 remains one of the most popular action-RPGs ever made for the computer. Learn how to create a Sorceress that won't fizzle out at high levels.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Diablo 2 Game
Step1
Pick an element in which you want to specialize. Fire, Ice and Lightning each have their advantages, but the important thing is to pick one as your main attack tree, and synergize there. Chain lightning, Meteor and Frozen Orb are all great crowd control spells, so choose one of these to place 20 points in and add some synergy.
Step2
Decide if you will be playing this character all the way through the Hell difficulty mode. If so, many enemies will be immune to fire, so you may not want to focus all your skills there. If you have chosen fire, be sure to have a back-up skill such as Frozen Orb.
Step3
Make use of the one-point wonders. These are skills that do a lot for you with only one point spent, such as Warmth (restores your mana faster) and Teleport (saves lots of time when exploring, allows you to escape danger). One point in each of these is essential for any Sorceress, but do not overinvest here.
Step4
Stat Distribution: Unlike most characters, the sorceress does not need very much Strength or Dexterity. She can get by with only few points to wear light armor or mage armor, and her spellcasting weapons only require 63 Strength and 35 Dexterity even at the highest levels. Get your Strength up to 55 in the first few levels, and then just focus on Vitality. Energy can be added as needed, but will be less of an issue in the late game.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play with a friend, and you won't be stuck every time something immune to your element shows up.
  • If you find the unique dagger Wizardspike, you will need 75 Dexterity to wield it.

on 9/25/2008 Full Tal Rasha Requires 90 Strength to use, its a great set for Mfing and provides bonus's all around unlike eschutas.

fireball / Frozen Orb is known as the strongest Hybrid, keep in mind there are still many fire AND cold immunes, but it will help you solo much of the game if you wish to do so.

oh and Ubers is out of the question for any sorc
(because of the fire/cold/light/physical/poisen immunes)
