Fighting for women's rights includes the rights of women who are incarcerated. Prisoners are still human and the rights of women are even more endangered in jail.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Patience
  • Communication skills

Step1
Make contact with women prisoners that you are interested in helping. Choose those who have made a particular impact on you personally. The stronger you feel about the woman's case the deeper your conviction is.
Step2
Educate yourself on the women's cases and make yourself as familiar as you can with the circumstances and specifics. Know the cases as well as the lawyers do.
Step3
Educate yourself on legal procedures, laws and legislation. Pay close attention to anything related to your women's cases or prisoners rights in general.
Step4
Attend local rallies, meetings and seminars on the topic of prisoners rights. Stay up to date on all current events including changes in laws.
Step5
Stay aware of who your local congressman and representatives are. Have the addresses for your Mayors and Senators and make sure you know how to write an intelligent letter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Education is the key. If you don't know what you're talking about you wont be taken seriously.
  • Don't get discouraged. Even small changes take a long time to happen.
