How to Make Bacon Lattice

Many people love the rich taste of bacon on a sandwich, but sadly the shape of bacon strips means that some bites will be missing the wonderful taste of meat. Here's a technique to make sure you have bacon in every bite.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Bacon
  • Paper towel
  • Frying pan or griddle
  • Plate
  • Spatula

Step1
On a clean plate, take 4 strips of bacon, and arrange them in parallel rows, approximate 1 slice's width apart.
Step2
Take 4 other strips of bacon, and weave them perpendicular to the first four strips. Use a simple over/under pattern.
Step3
Turn the stove on, and warm the pan to a medium temperature.
Step4
Gently lay your bacon lattice in the pan with the spatula. Cook until gently browned on one side, then carefully flip the lattice.
Step5
Continue cooking to taste.
Step6
Gently remove the lattice from the pan, and drain it on paper towels.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bacon lattice makes the perfect BLT.
  • Hot bacon grease can spatter. Use caution when cooking bacon.
