There "is" a magic bullet for getting Grants for College it is called FAFSA on the web. There is a FREE version and a version that they want you to pay for. There is NO difference so I always use the FREE one.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Social Security Number
  • Drivers License
  • Income tax Return (2)yr.
  • Any other Income Info.
  • Computer
  • Internet Access

Step1
Assemble all necessary documents listed under items you will need.
Step2
Go to : www.pin.ed.gov
Apply for your pin # and wait for it to come to you to actually formally apply ..... because you will need it in order to electronically sign your application.
Step3
Now you have that out of the way, you can still learn a lot by playing with the site until your password comes in,also, there are other ways of applying without a password. You can also print out the completed application and physically sign it.
Go to:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm
Step4
On the left side of your screen you will see a list...scroll down to :
Filling out the FAFSA CLICK ON IT.
Step5
On the right side of your scren is the # 2. This is where you start and just follow directions.
Don't be afraid of this site,it is very user friendly......and quite forgiving.

Tips & Warnings

  • There is a part that is kinda tricky, in which they ask about your parents income and information. If you are an Independent Student just opt out of that section.
