Shhhh....those big red Christmas bows that you see in the store....save money and make your own!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Red ribbon
  • scissor
  • gold pipe cleaner
  • stapler
  1. Step 1

First, 3 pieces of ribbon are cut from the roll. The size of your bow will depend on the lengths that are cut. For my example, I have cut two pieces 14" in length, and a third 28". This will make a larger size bow.

  2. Step 2

Next, each of the two smaller pieces are folded with the ends meeting in the center. As shown in diagram 2.

  3. Step 3

In the next step, each piece of folded ribbon is then flipped onto the unfolded side. A tight pinch in the center will give you the next fold, as shown in diagram 3.

  4. Step 4

The ribbon can then be stapled to hold this fold in place.

  5. Step 5

Now, onto the longer piece! Fold the third piece of ribbon horizontally, in half, at the center. See diagram 5

  6. Step 6

Next, arrange all three pieces of ribbon, as shown in diagram 6.

  7. Step 7

To fasten all of the pieces, use a gold piece of pipe cleaner. *Make sure you tie it tightly!

  8. Step 8

Ok, you are almost there! At this point your bow should look like this! See diagram 8.

  9. Step 9

Finally, trim the hanging ends of the bow on an angle.

  10. Step 10

Your bow is done! You can make quite a few of these from just one spool of ribbon. Experiment with different sizes and colors.
    Happy Holidays!
