With a tight budget, food can make the perfect gift. It is useful and sometimes a treat for those who need pampering, yet doesn't break your budget. Don't forget to rate and comment on this article, please. I love feedback.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Recipe
  • Container and decor of your choice
  • Imagination and creativity
  • A little cash
  • Friends and family that eat regularly.
  1. Step 1
    gift wrap

Figure out exactly who from your list you want to give these foods to, you don't want to give your mother and your postal person the same gift. After checking to see your recipe is big enough, gather all ingredients for your recipes and design the packaging. For example, I go to the dollar store and look for glass bottles for sauces or tins for cookies or even baskets for multiple food gifts.

  2. Step 2
    nuts

Once you get home, start by checking to see that you have all your ingredients before starting. This saves time because you will not need to stop in the middle of the recipe. Some excellent recipes to use for gifts are eHow to Make Simple Spiced Nuts, Butterscotch Dessert Sauce, Excellent Dessert Sauces for A New Year's Buffet, and Cheap Cocoa Mixes for Excellent Christmas Gifts. All of these recipes are easy, cheap and taste excellent.

  3. Step 3

Once you have prepared your food items, you want to portion each gift out. Pour sauces into the bottles or scoop the nuts or cocoa into a bag. Make sure you use your creativity to decorate the outside with ribbon and bows. With a great set of different ribbon colors you can create a gift for any holiday or occasion!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always consider the person you want to give the gift to, gourmets would love special dipping oils or dessert sauces. But someone that is not adventurous would not be able to fully appreciate the same gift.
  • Sometimes making the same gift for many people can be cheaper then personalizing or personalize the flavors only. For example, the cocoa mix can be divided and flavored differently so each person feels you made it for them in mind.
  • When choosing food gifts, make sure you consider any allergies and dislikes. It would be horrible to spend the holidays in the hospital because of a box of peanut brittle!

on 1/18/2009 I desperately wanted to do the cocoa cones, but couldn't find those cone sleeves at Michaels' so I was out of luck and just gave fudge! People love food gifts, it's from the heart and goes right to the stomach! 5* & recommendation
