Things You'll Need:

  • Awareness of what others would respond to
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Decide the product you want to sell. Knowing your product will help you to decide whether your ad will be humorous or serious. Knowing the product will allow you to see whether you need to write a commercial to appeal to teenagers, children, adults, women or men.

  2. Step 2

Think about the reasons why someone would want to use the product or service. This gives you the springboard as to how you will present the product in the commercial.
Remember, the goal of a commercial is to persuade the audience to buy the product or service.

  3. Step 3

Come up with something that people will remember and cause your commercial to stand out from the hundreds of other commercials on television.
