Things You'll Need:

Computer with internet access
Your bank's routing number
Your checking account number

Step 1

Navigate to TD Ameritrade's Website listed at the end of this article, and click on "open an online trading account."
Step 2

Fill out the online application, which will include your social security number and the SS number of anyone else on your account.
Step 3

Fund your account electronically through a wire transfer or a banking transfer if it is over $2000. If it is under, send a check to the appropriate address.
Step 4

Your account is ready for trading when the money is recieved and verified.
