A traditional California omelet usually has mushrooms in, but that is optional for those not interested in fungi. Here's how to make a killer California omelet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 eggs
  • A few slices of avocado
  • A heaping handful of shredded cheddar cheese
  1. Step 1

Beat the eggs, adding a splash or two of water and a dash of salt and pepper. Continue to beat until sort of foamy.

  2. Step 2

Heat up your buttered skillet or frying pan over a medium heat. When it is ready to go, pour the eggs into the pan, letting it take shape and fluff up at the bottom of the pan.

  3. Step 3

After two or three minutes, you'll be able to see the edges start to cook. Throw on your avocado slices and cheddar cheese, let the eggs cook around the filling.

  4. Step 4

After another minute or so, use your spatula to lift the left side of the omelet and fold it over the right. Wait another couple of minutes and flip, taking another minute or two before removing it from the flame.
