It is so easy to make your own jewelry cleaner, and you will never again buy it from the jewelry store. Here's how to do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Denture case with removable tray
  • Ammonia
  • Old toothbrush
  • Soft cloth
  1. Step 1

Open your denture case and remove the tray. You can find this type of denture case at most dollar stores. Place your jewelry into the tray.

  2. Step 2

Fill the denture case half way with straight ammonia. Be careful not to inhale the fumes!

  3. Step 3

Lower your tray of jewelry into the denture case and close the cover. Let the jewelry sit in the case for thirty minutes to allow the dirt and residue to loosen.

  4. Step 4

Pull the tray out of the denture case. Using an old soft toothbrush, carefully brush into the crevices of your jewelry, dipping the jewelry back into the ammonia from time to time to rinse.

  5. Step 5

Once your jewelery is clean put it back into the tray and thoroughly rinse it under running water.

  6. Step 6

Carefully buff your jewelry dry with a soft cloth and enjoy the sparkle!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are sensitive to ammonia be sure to wear gloves when you are cleaning your jewelry.
  • Dispose of the used ammonia once you are finished.
