Create A Lasting family Bond With This Special Holiday Tradition

Christmas is the perfect time to express your love & enjoy time with your family.

My family now has this intimate little tradition. Every year, the three of us sit around the dining room table for a couple evenings and create a family scrap book. We use all the collected photos & memorabilia from the year.

This is an organizational activity as well. Not many people have the time to scrap book often. This will keep your family memoribilia caught up, properly preserved, & dated.

Have a memorable Christmas, reminisce, and create a tangible keep sake~

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Develop or print all the photos that have been building up for the year a week before you plan to scrap book with your family.
  • Pick up supplies: Photo albums, photo mounts, scrap books, glue sticks, scissors, papers, markers, etc..
  • Gather up your family
  1. Step 1

Try & plan this tradition early into the season. The closer it gets to the holidays, the busier & stressed things can become.

  2. Step 2

Some of your supplies can be magazines and ephemera. There is a host of creative products that you can get for this activity, but you really don't have to spend too much. Use your imagination!

Do try to buy all acid free products- your scrap book & photo albums will remain preserved for years to come.

It might be a good idea to provide each family member with their own pair of scissors.

    Protect your table with newspaper.

Don't break out certain memory items that might spoil the fun. Like for instance-
"Oh, I remember THAT picture. Ya, I was pregnant at the beach. How could I forget? You got trashed and spent all day out there frolicking with that blonde!"

  3. Step 3

Invite the spirit of Christmas into your home. Provide some Christmas cookies, hot cocoa, & your favorite holiday CD's. Turn off the cell phones.

  4. Step 4

If you have small kids, they can get involved in this to. You may want to give them their own supplies (they love glitter, glue, & stickers) & let them make a Christmas card while Mom & dad create the scrapbook & handle the photos.
