One of my students' favorite thematic units during our year together is our Golf Unit. It addresses all standards and the kids have a blast!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Create a golf mural.
Step2
Play a sight word memory game with golf balls that have been cut in half.
Step3
Play golf bingo, which is available for free on my website (see Resources below).
Step4
Build a putting green in class. If you can't build one, you can easily buy one at your local golf shop.
Step5
Create some golf art projects.
Step6
Have the kids cut out pictures from golf magazines or catalogs and place them next to corresponding words.
Step7
Buy "Golfy," a golf game with miniature players that use marbles.
Step8
Have the kids putt each day of the unit.
Step9
Let the parents putt in class. It always amazes me how many dads will walk their kids to school when they are presented with the opportunity to sink a putt in front of them.
Step10
Buy golf books like "P is for Putt."
