make healthy Cinnamon Toast

I was coming off of a crash diet and started experimenting in the kitchen with ways to add food to my morning breakfast routine without adding too many calories and too much fat but without ending up with something that tasted like saw dust. Thus I invented (I can say that because I didn't look it up anywhere) my easy to make, great tasting Cinnamon Toast.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Slices of Honey Wheat Light Bread (the low calorie kind)
  • I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray
  • Two packets of sugar substitute (I personally use Great Value)
  • Cinnamon Powder
  • A Toaster
  1. Step 1

Set out your slices of toast on a counter top or the plate you're going to use for your meal and spray each slice of toast 10-15 times (or until the majority of the toast has a light yellow colour to it. no worries, the spray is calorie and fat free) with the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray

  2. Step 2

Despite taboo and other warnings, put both slices of sprayed bread into the toaster and set to toast to your liking

  3. Step 3

Remove the toast and set them out on a plate. Sprinkle the cinnamon across the buttered sides to your liking. I usually try to have a nice dusting of it from edge to edge to get the full flavour

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle one packet of sugar substitute per slice of toast on the buttered and cinnamoned (that's not a real word, but it works) side.

  5. Step 5

Eat and enjoy! I usually add two eggs worth of Egg Beaters egg substitute mixed with crushed red pepper, 1/8 cup of milk and a few dashes of pepper to complete the dish.

Tips & Warnings
  • Enjoy it and don't feel guilty! If you've used the light bread suggested above, there's only 80 calories in this
  • I've been scolded countless times since I started adding this to my meals that putting buttered toast in the toaster is a bad move in the kitchen, but I've yet to have any problems with it.
