How to Get Rid of Green Pool Water Quickly
We all deal with green water in a pool. If you have a smaller pool for your kids, but it is big enough for a pump then I have a quick fix for you.
- Difficulty:
- Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need
- 1 Package of Shock It
- 1 Crate medium to large
- 3 old tee shirts
- a plug
-
-
1
Place the shirts inside of the crate ad stretch them so that the inside of the crate is lined tightly with the Tee shirts. I used rope at the top of the crate to secure them.
-
2
Take your package of shock it and add the require amount to the pool water. The directions are on package. Walk around or take a stick and swirl the water in the pool to help shock it dissolve.
-
3
Turn pump off. Remove filter from pump and replace lid on pump.
-
4
There is an intake tube and an out take tube on your filter. Have plug or something equivalent ready and remove out take tube from your pool. Plug hole where you removed the tube. This keeps the water in the pool
-
5
Take a chair or stool and place it in your pool. The seat of the chair or stool has to be above water level. Make sure to place it close to where the outtake tube is.
-
6
Place your lined crate on the chair or stool.
-
7
Take the outtake tube and place it into the crate.
-
8
Turn pump on and watch the huge filter you just made catch all that gross green slime. Depending on how dirty the water is you might have to change the shirts for fresh ones.
