With just a few steps, you can make sure your downloads go where you want, when you want, in Firefox.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open a Firefox browser window.

  2. Step 2

Click on the Tools drop-down menu.

  3. Step 3

Choose the "Options" feature on the drop-down menu. A new window will open.

  4. Step 4

Across the top of the new window is a row of icons. Click on the "Main" icon.

  5. Step 5

In the center of the main window is a "Downloads" option. You can choose a place to save files for every time a file is downloaded, or beneath the "Save" option is a check box for asking where the file should be downloaded every time a download is initiated.

  6. Step 6

Check the "Ask Me Where to Save Files" check box, and any time you download a file, a directory will appear so you can choose where to save the file.
