How to Appreciate Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In order to fully appreciate Martin Luther King Day you have to remember the man that still influences us today.

Things You’ll Need:

• A computer, with internet access

1. Find and read Mlk's 1963 " I have a dream " speech, which is still considered one of history's best examples of oration
2. Find out how MLK received the Nobel Prize at 35, and was the youngest person to do it.
3. Find out what "Bloody Sunday" was and how it affected many people.
4. Research how the history of MLK day came to be.
5. Find out how MLK tried to outlaw Jim Crow Laws, and his role in ending racial segregation on public transportation.
6. Martin Luther King, Jr. did many other wonderful things throughout his lifetime. Research him further and see how his voice changed our world and is still doing so.
