Step1
Anything 100% cashmere is a good, steady, reliable seller on eBay. Sweaters, vests, coats, gloves, hats, scarves, baby wear, and blankets all do well on eBay, even used or vintage. In fact, the older vintage cashmere items are often 3 or 4 ply (thicker and more luxurious) than today's 2-ply weave. Look around your house and see if you have anything 100% cashmere that you want to sell on eBay.
Step2
To find cashmere items to sell, visit garage sales, thrift stores, consignment stores, clearance sales, and off-price stores. Used cashmere sells very well on eBay.
Step3
Repair any minor holes in cashmere items - you can still make money selling them on eBay. If you do not know how to sew, find a friend or family member to help you, or enlist the help of the alterations department at your local dry cleaner. Depending on how much (or little) you paid for an item, spending money to repair the defect can be a good investment.
Step4
If you find a cashmere item with major damage, you can still sell it on eBay. Many creative people and crafters recycle cashmere to make hats, scarves, baby clothes, pillows, dog sweaters, and other items.
Step5
Make sure you offer international shipping. Cashmere is not as readily available and abundant in other countries as it is in the United States. 80% of my cashmere items are shipped overseas. It is not a matter of an international customer having the money to buy the cashmere item - it is a question of supply and availability. More and more international customers are turing to eBay to buy items that they cannot find in their own country.
Step6
Use key words such as "100% cashmere" or "cashmere blend" in your title. The word "cashmere" is a popular search term on eBay.
Step7
Join groups, forums, and support websites and interact with other sellers. The best way to learn about eBay selling, as with anything in life, is to talk to others who have experience. You will save valuable time and money by learning from the mistakes of others.
