How to Submit a Film to the Sundance Film Festival

Every year 200 films are selected for exhibition by the Sundance Film Festival. These films are chosen from more than 8000 dramatic, documentary and short film submissions. This years screenings of submitted U.S. and International films will be shown to more than 50,000 people in twelve Utah movie theaters. Here are the steps for submitting your film to the Sundance Film Festival Committee.

Things You'll Need:

• Original Film
• Computer with Internet and e-mail.
• Sundance wesite: http://www.sundance.org/festival/

1. 

   Use your computer and the Internet to search the Sundance Film Festival website. Read all rules and regulations required to submit your short film, feature film or documentary. Then fill out the online application and print out a copy of the completed application.

2. 

   Create your film in compliance with the Sundance Film Festival Committee regulations for your film. The major film categories are:
   U.S. & International Short Films
   U.S. & International Feature Films & Documentaries

3. Read about the deadlines and fees then select the appropriate deadline for submitting your film. Record your film in the correct DVD format then package for submission.

4. 

   Submit your film along with the appropriate fee and a copy of your application page print out. It must arrive at the Los Angeles office on or before the deadline date. I hope to see your movie on the big screen someday. Goodluck!

Tips & Warnings

• When submitting your film include a self-addressed, stamped postcard, which will be mailed back to you to verify that your submission has been processed.
• The deadline dates are NOT postmark deadlines. Your film must arrive at the office in Los Angeles on or before this date.
