Step 1
Celebrating at the strip. The Strip has a fireworks show and it generally has a younger and single crowd. The Strip is also incredibly crowded in the main area and very much so in front of Caesars as people gather as early as 8 p.m. The fireworks run down the hotels from Mandalay Bay on down. This is preceded by a three-minute warm-up show featuring the firing of shells off participating Strip hotels. It's called America's Party New Year's Eve.

Step 2
Celebrate downtown on Fremont Street. They have fireworks shows and there is mostly older couples. It's a little different downtown as the "fireworks" are electronic on an overhead canopy. Also called America's Party, this is a closed-off block party and tickets are $80. Well known bands perform on two stages at either end of the five-block area. Five for Fighting, All American Rejects, OK GO and Chicago have performed. A light and sound show runs overhead on the lighted "canopy" and confetti showers down at midnight. The gates open at 5:30 (no one under 18 allowed) with entertainment set to begin at 8. Some restaurants offer packages for entrance and dinner.

Step 3
If you rather party at a club there are plenty to choose from. Each place has a different cover charge from $30.00 to $300.00. Many of the clubs have places where you can see the firewords, where the Voodoo Bar is probably number one. There are many clubs with package deals on New Years Eve such as The Mirage, TAO at the Venetian
Tangerine at TI, Light at the Bellagio, House of Blues Dance Party, Ghost Bar at the Palms, Playboy Club at the Palms, Moon Nightclub at the Palms, Rain Nightclub at the Palms, The Beach - 365 Convention Center Dr. Across from LV Hilton, Ice House Lounge – 650 S. Main Street, Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace, Tabu at MGM Grand, Studio 54 at MGM Grand -
Step 4
See the fireworks from your hotel room. If you rather ring in the evening with your family or spouse away from the crowd, book one of the many hotel rooms in Vegas. Book early and get a room several stories up with a view. That way you will be able to watch the fireworks. The 10 hotels where fireworks will be shot from include Excalibur, MGM-Grand, Monte Carlo, Bally's, the Flamingo, the Venetian, Treasure Island, Stardust, Circus-Circus, and the Stratosphere .
