How to Ship Holiday Packages Safely

This holiday season, make sure your packages arrive safely. By following these steps, you can feel confident that your gifts will be received in perfect condition.

Instructions

1. Choose the proper size box. Make sure your gift fits snuggly inside, but that there is enough room to add packing material to cushion it.

2. Place cusioning material all around your gift. Close the box and make sure your gift is not shifting. Add more cusioning material as needed.

3. Seal the box properly with heavy-duty packing tape. Make sure all seams are securly taped shut.

4. Make sure you write the correct shipping address, including the correct zip code, on your package. You can print a shipping label off of your computer to ensure it will be read properly, and then securely tape it to the box.

5. Weigh your package to ensure that you are placing the proper amount of postage on it. Your local post office can weigh your packages for you and provide the correct postage.

6. If your mailing expensive items, you may want to purchase insurance from your post office. You can purchase USPS insurance online.
